Bernie has worked with children, young people, families and carers in the human services field for the last 20 years.  Bernie commenced her career working in the Early Childhood Early Intervention sector assisting children in their development and their inclusion into educational settings before moving into the child protection area supporting Kinship carers and children in care.

Bernie’s passion for working with children and people with disability led to her next role as an NDIS Local Area Coordinator assisting families, carers and individual to build their capacity to live their best life.

Bernie has a bachelor’s degree in education, Certificate IV in Community Services (Mental Health) and Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.

Bernie has worked with and supported children who have experienced trauma, grief and loss, harm, and anxiety. She has a wealth of knowledge about the theories of attachment, stages of child development and behaviour in children.
