Gabby has been working with children and families for over ten years within the disability sector, previously working within Disability Support Worker and Case Management roles within Emerald.
Gabby has also previously worked with children living in out of home care and has experience as a support worker for Foster Carers in both a training and assessment capacity.
Gabby has completed her bachelor's degree in Psychology, a Certificate 3 in Disability and is currently studying her post graduate psychology honours. Gabby also has experience working with nonverbal children and has a Level 1 Certificate in AUSLAN and Makaton.
Gabby is passionate about early intervention, supporting the development of children through therapeutic intervention and ensuring all children are able to access adequate supports. Gabby has a strong focus on trauma informed, child centred and attachment-based work with children. Gabby enjoys working closely with children’s families and caregivers to provide strategies and education around supporting children who have experienced trauma.
Gabby has been living in Emerald for many years and is currently completing her clinical training as a Play Therapist, working towards her clinical registration with the Play Therapy Practitioners Association and delivering Play Therapy in remote Central Queensland.
